Mary Louise Gray
Mary Louise Gray (Cissy) was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She was born, (Mary Louise Hair) in Teague, Texas to the union of the late Handy and Bessie Hair. She was baptized at an early age and was a faithful servant under the leadership of Rev. W.H.T. Gillespie, First Baptist Church of North Teague. Mary Louise attended school at Booker T. Washington High School, Teague, Texas.
She later moved to Dallas, Texas were she met and married Floyd G. Gray. Mr. & Mrs. Gray remained in Dallas for many, many years and befriended numerous friends and acquaintances. In her latter years she moved back to Teague to care for her ailing parents. Due to a lengthy illness and rehabilitation, she later resided in the Teague Nursing Home.
Mary Louse (Cissy) enjoyed life. She was a great hostess and loved to entertain. You were never a stranger in her home. Her greatest pastimes and pleasures of life were fishing, sewing and watching sports. She was impaired in body, but never in spirit. She loved life and was a fighter to the end! She loved God and knew of His power. On Tuesday, July 29, 2008, God called his child, Mary Louise home to rest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd G. Gray; Parents, Handy and Bessie Hair; Sister, Ola Faye Brown; Four brothers, Howard McWilliams, Sr. (Pete), Lloyd Robinson, Sr. (Jody), Clifford Cummings, and Willie H. Porter.
Holding dearly to the precious memories of her life are children: Her Son: William W. Johnson and wife, Mary, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Her Daughters: Mary J. Polk and husband, Wendell of DeSoto, Texas; Yronnice Gray of Teague, Texas; and Felicia Gray of Fort Worth, Texas; Her Ten Grandchildren: Toby Gray, Floyd Keith Gray, Lajina Jones, Edquina Jones, William Dounley, Anthony West, D’Aubrey Gray, Adrie West, Randal West all of Dallas, Texas; William Gerard Johnson of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Ten great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends

Veatta Kelly
Graveside services for Ms. Veatta Kelly of Groesbeck will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 10 a.m. in Shady Grove Cemetery at Doyle.
Mrs. Kelly answered her call at her home in Groesbeck on Sunday, August 3, 2008. The Rev. Larry Gray will serve as Eulogist.
Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Vetta Kelly was the daughter of the late Porter and Eva Kelly, and was born and raised in Doyle, Texas. She united with Mount Gideon Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Gray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers - Birdie Standmire, Ellen Tatum, Lillian Henderson, William Kelly and TJ Kelly.
Veatta Kelly owned and operated her own cafe for many years. She worked at the Mexia State School in the Dietary Department, then she became a Foster Grandparent at the Mexia State School.
To cherish her memories are three nieces - Margie Majors and husband Charlie of Mexia, Rita Davis and husband Jasper of Mexia, and Linda Jewel Jackson of Groesbeck; two great-nieces - Gloria Lockhart and husband Joe of Mexia, and Lori Bell and husband Ricky of Groesbeck; special Caregivers Yvone Ray and Joe Wayne Vincent; a special devoted cousin, Ivory Asberry; a special late niece, Dorris Asberry, and a special late friend, Lacy.
Pallbearers are Joe Lockhart, Ricky Bell, Jack Nealy, Elgin Asberry, Elgin Tatum and Edward Bennett.
Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia is in charge of the Veatta Kelly service.
