Verna Brown Johnson

The angelic hosts came for Mr. Verna Brown Johnson on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Dallas. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 on Tuesday, April 30, at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe St. in Teague.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 11:30 a.m. in the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church at 303 State Highway 75 North in Fairfield. Officiating will be Apostle David D. Ransom Sr., pastor. Interment will be at the Jerusalem Cemetery in Fairfield.
Mr. Brown was born on Sept. 1, 1933, to the Rev. Allen and Naomi Johnson, in Freestone County.
He attended the Fairfield public schools and was a cook helper in various restaurants. He enjoyed singing in church and was known for his favorite song: “You’ve Got to Move When the Lord Gets Ready.”
Verna leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Celestine Thomas and Lonnie Mae Johnson, both of Dallas; a special niece, Marcie Ransom, of Fairfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
