The Mexia ISD board of trustees is poised to name the finalist or finalists for the superintendent’s job come Monday night.
Superintendent John Turpin retired in January and Donna Savage, MISD director of curriculum and instruction, has been acting as interim superintendent since Turpin left.
While the district gathered up candidates’ resumes, the board solicited input from the community about the qualities they should seek in their next superintendent.
Trustees went through the stack of candidates in a closed executive session April 2.
They met both Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16 and 17, to talk in private with applicants.
