Charlene Black

On June 5, 2013, in Fort Worth, Charlene Black left this earth on the wings of angels, to go to a new home.

Funeral services for Charlene Black will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Greater Haynes Memorial C.O.G.I.C, 601 N. Denton in Mexia.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 14, at Pearly Gates Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Eulogist will be Pastor Lewis Brown. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mexia.

On April 2, 1985, in Fort Worth, Charles and Pearl Black became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, whom they named Charlene. Charlene attended and received her education at O.D. Wyatt High School, TCU College, and studied at Kaplan University, as a medical assistant.

She accepted Christ as a child and united with Bright and Glory Church, and Greater Saints Steven.

She became a mother of two handsome sons, LaDerion D. Johnson and Jaylon P. Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her grandpas, Belbert Johnson and Will Black, and grandmas, Mary H. Johnson and Mary Black.

Those left behind to cherish many sweet memories are her sons, LaDerion D. Johnson and Jaylon P. Johnson, of Fort Worth; mother, Pearl Black; father, Charles Black; sister, Christene Stewart of Fort Worth; nephews, Joshua (Meshia) Stewart and Jeremiah Stewart, of Fort Worth; niece, LaTrene Cortez; and a host of other relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
