Mexia Blackcat Clynt Platt was the only player from District 19-3A to be named by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association to the Academic All-State Team for 2013.

Platt played a big role as part on the Blackcat’s baseball team this past season, hitting .314 with 16 hits, including two doubles, scored 10 runs and knocked in 16 RBI while playing second base under the direction of Coach Matt Matus.

Platt, who graduated this spring, was also one of 31 recipients of the Luminant Power Track scholarships given out by the company at the end of April of this year.
