It may not have been pretty, but at times it was pretty amazing.

That’s how the night went for the Coolidge Lady Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, Aug. 13 as they managed to back after a rough start to sweep the Milford Lady Bulldogs in three sets, 25-20, 25-7, 25-11 to win their first match of the year on the opening night of the 2013 volleyball season.

Naylie Gonzalez and Marie Ortiz made some incredible diving plays, keeping the ball in play in the final match that eventually led to Coolidge taking a commanding lead early on. Adrianna Jones kill shot helped widen that lead to 21-10 as the match started winding down and Precious Busby’s save at the net helped set up match point with the score in favor of the Lady Yellow Jackets, 24-11.
