The first meeting for Limestone County’s next Relay for Life is this Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. at Mexia’s Coffee Cabaret.

The highly successful American Cancer Society fundraiser called Relay for Life is set for Friday, Oct. 26, at Fort Parker State Park, but it involves weeks of planning and a lot of fun pre-event activities,

The theme of this year’s Relay is “A Ray of Hope… Wishing on a Cure.”

For those who have no idea what Relay for Life is, it’s a 12-hour fundraiser filled with fun competitions between teams whose proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. The society provides direct service to cancer victims as well as funds for research to find a cure for the disease.
