MISD board may restore hot water

Mexia ISD trustees may agree to buy a car or two and restore hot water to the high school when they meet Monday night.

At their last meeting, the board considered buying two sedans to save on fuel costs, rather than continuing to use their large, aging SUVs because most trips for which the Suburbans are used don’t involve large numbers of people.

Last month the board looked at three bids for sedans: two 2014 Ford Fusions for $18,900 each from Dick Scott Ford; two Chevrolet Malibus, year not stated, for $20,455 each, from Beene Motors; and two 2013 Dodge Avengers for $17,900 each, from Allen Samuels Dodge.
