City sales tax rebates drop again this month

Sales tax distributions to Mexia were down again last month, and remain below the amount gathered year-to-date last year.

The city of Mexia received $208,011 this period, down 4.16 percent from the $217,051 reported sent in this month in 2012. Year-to-date, Mexia has received $2,326,407, down .7 of a percent from the $2,342,915 year-to-date total 12 months ago.

Revenues this month were up 8.6 percent in Groesbeck, with that town set to receive $69,757 this period compared to $64,231 a year ago. That city, year-to-date, is ahead 2.64 percent compared to a year ago.

Elsewhere in Limestone County, Kosse saw revenues rise 7.6 percent when compared to the same month a year ago, to $6,907. Thornton’s figure was $1,578, a 16.39 percent decrease from September 2012.
