Edgar Lee Jones

Edgar Lee Jones, 70, of Groesbeck, passed away on Jan. 1, 2014, at the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at Porter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. Darron Killingsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Family visitation will be held on Monday evening, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born on Feb. 4, 1943, in Teague, to Edgar W. and Ethel Martin Jones. He was in the Army and worked in the oil fields. He loved to research his Indian heritage and playing his guitar. He married his wife, Bonnie Tull, on Aug. 29, 1992. They were married 22 years. Ed was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Matthew Lynn Sanford and Justin Lynn Heath; great-nephew James Wesley Williams Jr. and son-in-law Billy Richard Sutton.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jones, of Groesbeck; four daughters, Jennifer Heath and husband Donnie, of Marlin, Tracy Harris and husband Thomas, of Marlin, Jennifer Litton and husband Philip, of Corpus Christi, and Chana Gladding and husband Aaron, of Groesbeck; sister Carolyn Dabney, of Mexia; aunt Nell Marin, of Alvin; grandchildren, Shasta and Omar Rojas, Ryan and Railynn Miller, Justin Leone, Christopher Shropshire, Ashton Gladding, Leslie Gladding, Eddie Heath, Gwen Heath, Devin and Angel Sutton, Walter Jr. and Kale Powe, Britnay and Ben Sutton, and Kellee Powe; great-grandchildren, Landon Sutton, Brandon Powe, Ann Miller, McKinely Miller, Kensley Miller, Ellayna Powe and Alyvia Sutton; nephew Jimmy Dabney; niece Danna Cantrell; great-nephews Brad and Scott; great-nieces, Criston, Heather, Amber, Hannah, Becky and Rachel.
Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Miller, Walter Powe Jr., Justin Leone, Billy Sims, Christopher Shropshire, Devin Sutton, Ashton Gladding and Joey McFerrin.
