Fairground prepping for future growth, fair

Limestone County commissioners court is considering installing 50 additional stalls at the showbarn, and also is looking forward to the county rodeo and fair coming up.
Kenneth Ellis, general manager of the Fairgrounds, brought up the possibility of adding more horse stalls at Monday’s commissioners court meeting and told the commissioners why they should consider adding the extra stalls.
“This is something we need to look at down the road,” Ellis said. “I think we’re probably missing out on some events we could have if we had more stalls. I’m not going to suggest that we go full-blown, but if we could add 40-50 more stalls, it would probably bring in more events that we could handle pretty easily, like two-three-day events.
“We’ve made it public how many stalls we have on our website, so a lot of people won’t even call because they know we can’t handle the traffic.
