John C. 'J.C.' Jones

John C. "J.C." Jones, 66, of Mexia died June 28, 2014 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia.
He was born Oct. 12, 1947 in Limestone County, and was a retired truck driver from a variety of companies. He worshipped at Bethsaida Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones; daughter, Alma Brooks and husband, Roger, of Mexia; son, John (Tomeko) Jones Jr. of New Orleans; special grandchildren, Candace and Coby Brooks of Mexia, and Brandon, Brandisha and Kenta Caston of New Orleans; great-grandson, Mason Mendoza of Mexia; four brothers, Marvin (Wilene) Hudson, of Mexia, Walter (Faye) Thomas and Wilmer (Teresa) Thomas, both of Waco, and Norris (Lisa) Jones of Montana; four sisters, Glodine Carroll, Linda (Theodore) Phillips and Bernice (Joseph) Medlock, all of Mexia, and Margaret Ross of Blooming Grove; two special sisters-in-law, LaVerne Jones and Bernice Carroll, both of Mexia; one special brother-in-law, Earnest Jones Sr. of Mexia; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services take place a 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Dorsey-Keatts Chapel in Mexia, with minister Timothy Williams of Bethsaida Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial takes place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mexia. Casket bearers will be Roderick Durham, Fredrick Durham, Claude Sandles Jr. and Charles Wilson.
