Task force looks to break cycle of violence
By Roxanne Thompson
Limestone County is taking steps to handle domestic violence cases in a way that will result in change for victims and more successful prosecution of abusers.
The Limestone County Domestic Violence Task Force was set up about a year ago and meets about every other month. Organizers believe that by bringing together the different people involved in dealing with domestic violence that their response will be more effective.
Limestone County’s Domestic Violence Task Force is currently composed of a representative of the county’s different law enforcement agencies, the County Attorney’s Office, the Victim Services Coordinator, Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services and Micah Titterington, with Waco’s Family Abuse Center, who helped set up the task force and plays an advisory role.
