Coolidge makes it 50

Mexia News Staff Report

It wasn’t easy, but the Coolidge Yellowjackets managed to pull off their fourth consecutive undefeated district season after escaping Gholson with a 57-39 win Tuesday afternoon.
Coolidge built a sizeable lead by the end of the first period, 20-9, mostly on the shoulders of Torrey Hoover, who hit three, three-pointers.
Manuel Santa Cruz kept the Yellowjackets alive in the second with eight points against the Wildcats after they strung to life offensively to cut Coolidge’s lead down to one at the half.
