Relay teams finish on top

Mexia track teams competed at the Fairfield High School Invitational track meet on Thursday, March 9.
The junior varsity girls came back with second place medals, while the JV boys took eighth.
In varsity competition, the boys track team finished in sixth place overall and the varsity girls came in eighth.
For the JV girls, Kayleigh Chambers took first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.38 and in the 200 meter dash, J’Myia Strain finished first with a time of 28.37, Daybre’ell Jackson took fourth with a time of 29.67 and Zaria Daniels placed sixth with a time of 30.23.
In the 800 meter run, Kalea Dick crossed the finish line in with a time of 3:01.00.
