Betty Elizabeth Dabney

Betty Elizabeth Dabney, 72, ascended into heaven on May 29, 2017 from St. Catherine’s Hospice in Waco with her daughter, Tammy Swift, by her side. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 2 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Interment will follow in the LaSalle Cemetery with William Thomas Dabney, III, Benny Ray Murphy, Sean Ridge, Jory Wayne Walpole, James Zebley and Kerry Ward serving as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
Betty was born Feb. 11, 1945 in Midway to Amos Jackson Caldwell and Ida Mae West. Betty shared a large family of numerous brothers and sisters, which whom some now rest with her. She was also preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, William Thomas Dabney, Sr.
Betty is survived by her children, Tammy Swift and significant other, Georgina Abbott, Virginia Dabney, Belinda Gail Jenkins all of Mexia and William Dabney, Jr. and wife, Paula of Wortham; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was family oriented, warm and kind hearted and a stranger to no one, but a true friend to many. She was a devoted wife and mother to her one and only child, Tammy LaGayle Swift, who was the light of her life. 
Betty was a hard worker and a strong-willed person who fought to survive. She was a woman with so much character that everyone loved her just as she loved them.
