Deborah Currie Bowman

Funeral services for Deborah Currie Bowman will held at 5 p.m., Friday, July 7 at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. The Reverend Bill Wright will officiate. Cremation will follow the services.
Visitation will be held throughout the day on Friday from 10 a.m - 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Deborah passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston.
She was born in Pasadena on Jan. 25, 1952. She grew up in Pasadena and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School with the class of 1970. She lived in Mexia for about forty years. Deborah graduated from Navarro College in 1991 with a degree in nursing and went to work as an LVN for MD Anderson before hiring on with an agency that sent her to numerous major hospitals for the remainder of her career. In her spare time, she loved creating arts and crafts and was known for selling her goods at garage sales and flea markets. She was a Baptist by faith.
She is survived by one son, Freddie Hensel and fiancé Johanna Doucet of Mexia; five grandchildren, Madyson Hensel, Helayna Hensel, Brycen Hensel, Jeffery Hensel, and Aimee Hensel; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Avera; her parents, Fred and Helen Currie of Mexia; two brothers, Rusty Currie and wife Dee of Mexia, and Randy Currie of Jewett; one sister, Carrie Dazey and husband Leonard Ridenour of Teague; “Adopted daughter,” Carolyn Hensel of Hewitt; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by one son, Tom Hensel.
