Those who need to get trained for a good job fast may want to investigate Navarro College’s Quick Careers Program. Within months – not years – adult students of most any age can earn a certificate in one of several fields. Classes in Criminal Justice Corrections, Medical Front Office Professional and Customer Service were, or will be, offered at Navarro College South, in Mexia; Welding and Industrial Maintenance will be taught at Fairfield; and Paralegal Studies will be taught at the Corsicana campus.
According to Navarro College South Dean Dr. Joel Michaelis, community colleges like Navarro specialize in being a bridge between people of any age and the career they want. Consequently, Navarro has put together these packages of courses that are designed to make that happen.
“It’s a way for somebody to come in and get some sort of certificate so they can go out and get a decent-paying job in a fairly short amount of time,” Michaelis said.
