Third-year Mexia coach Andre LaTouche returns this season for the Blackcats and will be an assistant defensive line coach for the football team under head coach Frank Sandoval.
LaTouche was an assistant football coach last season and served as the head basketball coach for Mexia. He also serves as the athletic coordinator for the junior high.
LaTouche graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he played basketball and received his degree in professional studies.
But it was long before that, back when he was a freshman football player for the Temple Wildcats, that his connection to Mexia comes into play.
LaTouche had the opportunity to play for former Mexia head football coach, the legendary Bob McQueen.
