Missing Mexia teen found safe

A Mexia teenager, last seen by her family Friday evening, was found safe Sunday night.
Juliana Contreras Garcia, 13, was reported missing to the Mexia Police Department on Saturday, Aug. 5. The Police Department posted a notice to its Facebook page, with more than 2,900 people sharing the original post, and many others sharing that information on their respective Facebook pages.
According to the Mexia Police Department’s update, Garcia was located in Freestone County Sunday night, Aug. 6, “and found safe and sound.”
The Department thanked everyone who helped by sharing the pertinent information.
Additionally, Interim Chief of Police Rodney Irvin credited Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley and his staff for helping with the investigation.
