After a couple of weeks of two-a-day practices and getting in about of week of hitting in full gear, the time has come to see how much this season’s Mexia Blackcat football team has learned under head coach Frank Sandoval’s new system.
This Friday night at 7 p.m., the Blackcats will host the Palestine Wildcats (freshmen and junior varsity start at 5:30 p.m.).
The scrimmage will give Sandoval and his staff a chance to look over the team during the live play portion, to see what needs to be tweaked.
Fans may want to arrive early to get a good parking spot and seat.
Even though this is just a scrimmage, here’s a few historical facts about the two teams when they’ve played each other in the regular season.
