Lady Bulldogs dig in with four sets over Eagles

The Wortham Lady Bulldogs took a break from tournament play last Friday to host the Mildred Lady Eagles.
Wortham took the home match in four sets, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 25-12.
Leading the Lady Bulldog offense in the match was Kayla Lansford, who recorded 28 kills and five blocks.
Teammate Ashley Mao stepped up strong, finishing with 12 kills and two blocks and Rylee Goolsby slammed over four kills and had three blocks.
Jayde Hamilton served up four aces. She also had a block and led the team in assists with 11. Fellow Lady Bulldog setter Darcy Taylor finished the match with six assists.
Wortham’s defense kept them going throughout the match, with libero Hallie Fautt leading the charge with 14 digs.
Skylar Phillips, Samantha Wright, Hamilton and Megan Whaley all contributed defensively with four digs each.
Wortham starts play in the Leon Tournament today.
