Ladycats come from behind in five against Lady Lions

If Tuesday night’s home volleyball match would have been an episode of the television game show, Jeopardy, the Mexia Ladycats would have won the “Daily Double” after trailing the Teague Lady Lions by a set, then coming back to tie and eventually finish out with the win.
The daily double answer would have been none other than defensive specialist Wayneshia Daily, who served up the last eight points in the tie-breaker set, including three aces and was capped off by a huge block at the net by teammate Camrye Smith as the Ladycats won in five sets, 25-8, 18-25, 20-25, 25-14, 15-7.
Smith hit the ball hard in the fourth set, recording three kills down the stretch in the win that tied the match. Tiesha Jones came up with some big plays at the net and it was her kill shot along the far side of the court that landed untouched that helped finish off the Lady Lions to tie the match at 2-2.
The Ladycats settled down and regrouped after trailing the match 2-1, receiving some great defensive play from both Destini Hutchison and Jenny Vu in the back court. Vu is not afraid to put her body on the line for a loose ball, as she gives it her all, diving to keep the ball alive.
