Lady Bulldogs pick up first district win in three sets

It didn’t take long Tuesday evening for the Wortham Lady Bulldogs to pick up their first district win of the season, as they march towards their goal of 20 consecutive playoff appearances in the team’s history.
Wortham disposed of the Mount Calm Lady Panthers in three sets, 25-7, 25-9, 25-4, to move to 1-0 in District 14-2A.
Leading the charge at the net for the Lady Bulldogs was Kayla Lansford with 11 kills and a blocked shot. Lansford inflicted damage on the Lady Panthers at the service line with eight aces and she also pitched in defensively with two digs.
Setter Jayde Hamilton finished the match with 14 assists and five kills, along with a pair of aces serving and two digs on defense.
