Today starts Week 6 in Texas High School football and normally there would be a slate of area games to talk about, however, all but three teams have a bye this Friday night.
The Mexia Blackcats get the night off and some much-needed rest as they end non-district play with a 2-3 record. Mexia returns to action Oct. 13 against Lorena in the district opener.
Wortham is off, as are Mart and Bremond.
Only Coolidge, Groesbeck and Teague have games this Friday in the area.
Let’s take a preview look at the Coolidge and Groesbeck games this week.
