Wortham nearly swarmed by Yellowjackets: Lady Bulldogs remain undefeated in district play

The black and gold swarmed into Bulldog gym in Wortham Saturday morning, and early in the match between Coolidge and the Lady Bulldogs, it looked as if the home team’s attempt at reaching the “baker’s dozen” in sweeps might be in jeopardy.
The Lady Bulldogs got off to a sluggish start at the beginning of the 10 a.m. match, as the Lady Yellowjackets cruised out to a 5-0 lead in the first set, until Wortham finally kicked it in gear to pull out a 25-19 win.
The second set was a battle, with plenty of long rallies and some great hitting and blocking, according to Wortham head coach DeAnna Whaley, describing out it played out.
