Mexia, Groesbeck PDs enter inter-local agreement

An inter-local agreement has been made between the Mexia Police Department and Groesbeck Police Department. The City of Mexia entered an inter-local agreement with the City of Groesbeck to form a Mutual Aid Law Enforcement Task Force in order to cooperate in criminal investigations and other law enforcement activities. The action was made official after the City of Mexia’s Council gave Chief of Police Brian Bell the okay to go forward.
Groesbeck Chief of Police Christ Henson said, “I approached Chief Bell nearly a year ago, before he was chief. We already have [an inter-local agreement] with the City of Kosse. The agreement order is to cooperate with each other in criminal investigations and other law enforcement activities. We are a small agency so our resources are limited. We share the same criminals and we are often after the same people which makes sense to have an agreement between the two agencies and work together to further our investigative efforts.”
