This week, playoff positions are on the line for a few area teams, while others have sewed up their spots.
In Week 9, Mexia fought hard against a strong Salado defense, but ended up falling to the Eagles 28-7, while Wortham battled against a surprisingly good Mount Enterprise Wildcat team at home. The Wildcats spoiled the Bulldogs homecoming, escaping back to east Texas with the 48-20 win. Bremond and Mart shutout their opponents, with each team remaining on top of their respective districts and have secured a spot in the playoffs, while over in six-man football, Coolidge rallied from behind to beat a tough Aquilla Cougar team by 10, to stay unbeaten in the district. The Yellowjackets Jordan Brown scored five touchdowns in the win, three on the ground and two on kickoff returns.
Here’s the breakdown on a few of our local teams playing this Friday night.
