Local governments to share $438K in monthly sales tax revenue

From the state, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $660.4 million in local sales tax allocations for October, 1.6 percent more than in October 2016. These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.
Limestone County generated 8.107 percent more than last year of sales tax allocation in the amount of $282,971.91. Year to date Limestone has received payment of $2,845,842.23 compared to last year at $2,802,179.74.
Freestone County had a total revenue of $155,068.98 this month compared to last year at $172,221.40. YTD Freestone has received $1,944,907.17, 2.03 percent in the negative this time last year.
