Coolidge, Wortham volleyball players earn all-district honors

The volleyball season has come to a close for District 14-2A teams and the all-district selections have been released.
Wortham’s Kayla Lansford, Hallie Fautt and head coach DeAnna Whaley received superlative awards.
Lansford led the team on offense and in kills and blocks this season, earning her the district’s MVP award. Fautt, who led the Lady Bulldogs defense in digs, received the Best Libero award and coach Whaley was named the district’s Coach of the Year. Whaley coached the Lady Bulldogs to a district title with a perfect 16-0 mark, 15 of the wins were earned by sweeping their opponents. Wortham made their 20th consecutive playoff appearance, finishing the season as area champions and as one of the Class 2A regional quarterfinalist with an overall record of 30-14.
