Limestone County veterans were honored for their service on Friday, Nov.10, on the south steps of the courthouse, in Groesbeck.
American Legion Post No. 288 produced the event, beginning with Legionnaire and County Judge Daniel Burkeen, who welcomed attendees to the ceremony and later gave the keynote address.
County Veterans Service Officer Don Beene acted as chaplain, opening the event in prayer.
Youths Charlie Agnew and her brother, Colton, led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Legionnaire Russ Foster sang “God Bless America,” with attendees joining in song.
In Burkeen’s speech, he acknowledged that the attendees were honoring veterans by their presence.
