Mexia News Staff Report

The unofficial numbers are out in relation to the upcoming University Interscholastic League district alignments for the 2018-19 Texas high school football season, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.
Oct. 27 is the day the UIL gathers up enrollment data to use in determining the upcoming re-alignment, but the official announcement won’t come until Feb. 2018.
Estimated cutoffs by DCTF’s Matt Stepp - in relation to Bi-Stone County teams - showed Class 4A DI from 785 to 1,159; DII from 485 to 784; Class 3A DI - 330 to 484; DII - 230 to 329; Class 2A DI - 165 to 229; DII - 104.5 to 164; Class 1A DI - 63 to 104.4; DII - 62 and below.
Currently, both Fairfield and Mexia are in the same district (9-4A DII) and that shouldn’t change in the upcoming re-alignment. Fairfield has the largest enrollment - according to the report - with 537. Mexia has 508.
