Mexia’s 14th Annual Christmas Parade this Thursday

Stars will twinkle on the streets of Mexia this Thursday, Nov. 30, when the city starts the Christmas holidays with its 14th Annual Christmas Parade.
Since night falls so early this time of year, the skies will be dark at 6 p.m. when the event begins. Consequently, each entry will be lighted, so spectators lining the streets may ooh and aah at the brilliant displays of Christmas floats, whose theme will be “Winter Wonderland.”
Parade marshals will be Mr. and Mrs. Mistletoe, a longtime Mexia couple whose identity is a secret until revealed at the parade.
Just a few of the other confirmed entries include the Mexia High School Blackcat Marching Band, Navarro College, Parkview Regional Hospital and Ronald McDonald. Other local businesses, churches and groups perennially take part in the parade, too, showing their interest in, and care for, the community.
