There was some good news and bad news Tuesday night in China Spring, as the Mexia Ladycats took on the Lady Cougars in non-district play.
The good news.
Fans entering the game received a coupon for a free combo box from Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, part of the “Cane’s Challenge,” if the Lady Cougars could put 50 or more points up on the scoreboard.
The bad news.
Fans went home hungry, thanks in part to Mexia’s defensive effort, however, even more bad news as the win also eluded the Ladycats, with the crimson and black falling to China Spring, 44-33.
The Lady Cougars came out scoring in the first period, with junior Macie Reeves hitting back-to-back treys and Dream Thomas sinking seven points to push China Spring out to an 18-6 lead.
