This year continues the 13-year-long commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, and Mexia-based Veterans Pardners wants to note that fact and also honor veterans of that era.
Veterans Pardners will hold its fourth commemorative program on Saturday, Feb. 17, 1-3 p.m. at Mexia’s VFW Lancaster Post 4694, 309 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Highway.
Whether a veteran actually deployed to Vietnam is immaterial: Any U.S. veteran who served between Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, is invited to contact Veterans Pardners to be part of the ceremony.
The deadline to register for this event is Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.. That’s in just two days, so veterans are requested to hurry and call or text their name, branch of service, highest rank achieved and years of service (for example 1963-68) to 903-915-1462; or email that information to
Veterans will no doubt enjoy meeting fellow vets and receiving the thanks and honor of those who recognize their sacrifice.
