Wortham athletes advance to regionals

Several Wortham High School track students have advanced to regional competition after the district meet at Cayuga.
Here's how those from Wortham who are advancing to regional did at the district meet:
Girls team:
Kierra Busby 1st - 100, 200 long jump, 3rd - high jump.
Davesha Eggins 5th - 400.
Kendle Rhodes 5th - 800.
Elisha Libhart 4th - discus.
Davesha Eggins, Kierra Busby, Camey Shaffer, Ashley Anderson 3rd - mile relay. Hannah McCord 2nd - 100m hurdles and 4th - 300m hurdles.
Boys team:
Michael Anderson 3rd - long jump, 5th - 100 and 200.
Blake Hutson 5th - shot put.
Skylar Jordan 6th shot put.
Angus Worcester 5th discus.
Tyree Freeman 1st - 800.
James McLelland 1st - 400.
Boys mile relay, 1st place, Michael Anderson, Chris Lee, Tyree Freeman and James McLelland.

The following students advanced to area competition and their results at that meet were:
Girls team:
Kierra Busby 1st - 100 and 200m dash and 2nd in long jump.
Hannah McCord 3rd - 100m hurdles and 4th - 300m hurdles
Mile relay, 3rd, Davesha Eggins, Ashley Anderson, Camey Shaffer, Kierra Busby Davesha Eggins, 5th, 400m dash.
Boys team:
Michael Anderson 5th - long jump.
Tyree Freeman 2nd - 800m run.
James McLelland 1st - 400.
Miles relay, 2nd, Michael Anderson, Tyree Freeman, James McLelland, Chris Lee.
All fourth place or better finishes advance to regional competition this Friday and Saturday at Palestine High School.
