As the dire need of Houston residents becomes more apparent in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, more Mexia organizations are stepping up to provide needed items for their fellow Texans.
A 4-H group made over 500 sandwiches to deliver to one of the devastated cities; a nursing home is serving as a drop-off point for donations; and a service club is contributing money to an emergency relief fund.
The 4-H club is a very active group called the Limestone Leaders, headed by Tami Lewis, Annette McCloskey and Lynn Parsons; many of the members are homeschoolers.
