LaSalle looking to hire 46 locally

Those looking for work in Limestone County now have more choices since LaSalle Corrections announced they plan to hire 46 employees as soon as possible at the Limestone County Detention Center.
Warden Richard Alford gave county commissioners this news at their Sept. 12 meeting as he and Sheriff Dennis Wilson updated the court on the county-owned prison.
“We’re starting recruiting efforts here in Limestone County, trying to get some of those people back and hire local,” Alford said. “It will take 36 correctional officers to run the facility as it is, once we get F Building online; and then about 10 support staff, so we’re looking to hire 46 individuals from this area.”
He described the task as “daunting” and said LaSalle had raised its salaries by a dollar an hour and hoped to raise them another dollar an hour once they “get this thing on the ground and get it running.”
