A public hearing on the proposed budget for Limestone County’s Fiscal Year 2017-18 will take place Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. The hearing is expected to fall in the middle of the commissioners court meeting.
The court has held numerous budget work sessions over the past month with few or no last-minute changes. However, the commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. for one last budget work session.
After the public hearing closes, the court will vote on the new tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year.
Commissioners will discuss whether or not to continue the burn ban put into order Sept. 22. The order, stated by County Judge Daniel Burkeen, “...finding that dry conditions have created dangerous conditions in Limestone County...outdoor burning is banned.”
