Limestone County commissioners court approved the 2017 tax roll at its Oct. 24 meeting.
The court addressed this issue at its Oct. 24 meeting and also approved two grants, addressed citizens’ concerns on road issues, helped honor descendants of the county’s earliest residents and renewed contracts with several volunteer fire departments.
As for the tax roll, Tax Assessor-Collector Stacy Hall presented the information to the court.
“At the end of September,” she said, “we started importing the tax roll, calculating taxes, got final numbers from the Appraisal District and had everything ready to go on Oct. 1.”
She reported that the tax levy this coming year should total $14.68 million. The bills have all been mailed, she noted, and tax payments have already begun coming in.
