Mexia residents express thankfulness

By Roxanne Thompson

The Mexia News continued its tradition of reaching out to residents to ask their thoughts at Thanksgiving, especially what they are grateful for over the past year.
Almost everyone mentioned being grateful for their family and friends. Some had lost beloved family members, making this holiday a difficult time. Others spoke of God, His blessings, their faith and the state of the nation. Some mentioned being grateful just to be alive having been challenged by illness or looking back over many Thanksgivings.
Whatever readers are grateful for, employees and staff of The Mexia News, too, are grateful for many of the same things in our respective lives – and we are grateful for our readers, who share life together with us in a special place called Mexia.
The following are just a few people we caught up with as they were going about their daily lives. We wish them – and everyone – a happy Thanksgiving!
