DARRELL CHRISMAN

Darrell Chrisman, 76, of Mexia, passed away Sept 20, 2020, at Parkview Hospital.

He was born in the Heights, in Houston. He attended Texas A&M University and University of Houston Architecture School. He then pursued his love of design and architecture. There were several project accomplishments he took particular pride in, among them being a post office building in Houston, luxury homes on Lake Conroe, and lavish estates in Houston, Huntsville, Del Rio and Waco. He also designed private homes in Groesbeck and on Lake Limestone. In recent years, his passion was restoring his home in Mexia.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing all major Texas golf courses with his Houston ‘foursome.’ Darrell loved the outdoors and sitting on the back patio taking in all the land, the trees, breezes and the beauty of nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Chrisman; and his brother, Lyndall Chrisman.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cynthia Chrisman, of Mexia; son Jason Chrisman, of Commerce, and daughter Julie Waller, of Heath; and 15 grandchildren.

At Darrell’s request, no services will be held. In lieu of this, Darrell’s memory could best be celebrated on the anniversary of his birth, Feb. 2, by taking a moment to observe God’s beautiful outdoors.
