This week at Mexia LTC we started off with Bible Study by Irma Carranza on Monday morning. Residents played bingo on Monday afternoon. Residents enjoyed Bible Group with Bob Kersten on Tuesday morning. Residents played bowling and enjoyed popcorn on Tuesday afternoon. Residents will exercise on Wednesday morning and play bingo that afternoon. Residents will enjoy apple pie in a cup provided by McKenna with Community Healthcare Providence Hospice on Thursday morning and play bean bag toss that afternoon. Residents will enjoy manicures on Friday morning and play bingo that afternoon. Residents will have worship services on Sunday morning and enjoy Church services either online or on TV on Sunday evening.

Help sought for Wortham fire victims

A Wortham family lost almost all their belongings in a fire Saturday night, Oct. 22, on West San Saba. Upon arrival shortly after the call that came in at 11:28 p.m., the Wortham Volunteer Fire Department began combating the fire that had already spread to the house’s attic as well as to a nearby commercial structure. No injuries were reported. Mutual aide was requested from Streetman Fire, Teague Volunteer Fire Department, Kirvin Volunteer Fire Department, City of Mexia Fire and EMS, Wortham PD and Richland Fire.
