I’ve never owned a chicken myself, though the lady next door did when I was a girl growing up in southern Arizona. I’d wake up to rooster crows many a sunny mornin’. But this week I read about a recently published book titled “My Fine Feathered Friend” by William Grimes, a restaurant critic for the New York Times. I had to order it after I read the review.
Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site will host a family nature program about the sights and sounds of local birds Saturday, March 22, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program will be come and go, but a Sites Educator will be at the historic dance pavilion on the grounds to facilitate the hands-on activities.
