Kenneth Marshall Kuyava
Kenneth Marshall Kuyava, 80, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on Nov. 24, 2022, at Sonoran Senior Care in Peoria, AZ.
Kenneth was born in Mexia, to Marshall and Nancy Jewell Archibald Kuyava on April 26, 1942.
He attended Mexia High School and graduated in 1960. While attending Mexia High making exceptional grades his extra-curricular activities included choir, drama class with recognition as an outstanding player in Senior Play, “Desperate Ambrose,” and first place flutist in Mexia High School’s continuously award-winning sweepstakes band under the direction of Joe Tom Haney.
He studied business and education at Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches. Kenneth married RaeMaree Alyea Lewis on October 10, 1974, at a chapel ceremony in Dallas, with close family members in attendance.
Kenneth and Rae were united for forty-one years of blessed marriage. While in Dallas Kenneth started work in sales and management for Wohl Shoe Company. With Wohl, he relocated to Jacksonville, FL, Marietta, GA and Phoenix, AZ. Kenneth and Rae retired in Phoenix, Arizona where they enjoyed the beautiful spacious desert flanked by mountain ranges and sky. Fishing, pewter and leather working, sightseeing, gardening, cooking family recipes and watching western TV shows were Ken’s favorite pastimes.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Rae along with his sister, Rosie and brother-in-law, Orville (Red) Timberlake and nephew Orville Ray Timberlake.
Kenneth is survived by son Kenneth Kyle Kuyava of Nacogdoches, step-daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Bill Schueler, grandsons Justin Schueler, wife Lindsey and Brandon Schueler, wife Ashley, great-grandsons Aidan, Hudson, Reid, Rhys, and Brooks Schueler, all of Peoria, AZ. Three nieces, Sharon Timberlake Wilson, husband Johnny M. Wilson, great nephews Clint Wilson and family, Walt Wilson, niece, Teresa Timberlake, great nephew Stewart Wade Timberlake, great niece, Sara Trevino and family, niece, Rona Timberlake Stanford, husband Robert, great nephew, Brian Stanford, great niece, Brandy Buccalo and family.
The family of Ken Kuyava wishes to extend love and sincere thanks to Sonoran Senior Care and Honor Health Deer Valley Medical Center and their staff of doctors, nurses, caretakers and custodial staff, as well as friends and family in care and prayer for Kenneth.
