Charlotte Ann Hodges Duke Raborn
Charlotte Ann Hodges Duke Raborn, 86, died April 14, 2024, in Mexia. She was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Cleburne.
A visitation service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Jones Funeral Home, 931 State Highway 171, Mexia.
Charlotte graduated from Mexia High School. She furthered her education by attending college and graduating with an associate degree in Radiographic and Medical Laboratory Technology. She worked for local hospitals, state facilities and medical clinics in Waco, McGregor and Mexia. Charolette was loved and appreciated by her community and co-workers. She received an award as a regional clinic staff member at S&W McGregor Clinic for excellent work abilities.
Charlotte was family-orientated and a respected matriarch of the family. She enjoyed her hobbies of planting, gardening and knitting and reading romance novels. She loved all her family and pets alike. She and her husband, Joe, made plans for traveling in their RV along with friends each summer to the Oklahoma Dunes to race about from sunup to sundown in their buggy. She absolutely loved being with their Waco friends when time would allow. Charlotte and Joe loved each other dearly and Charlotte missed him greatly after his passing, speaking of him often and the time they had together.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Jeanette Eddy and Doyle Hodges Sr.; brother, Doyle Hodges; husband of 41 years, Joe Raborn; sons, Jerry Duke and Michael Duke; and grandson, Jonathan Mitchell.
Survivors include daughter, Janet Noonan; daughter- in-law, Gena; six hrandchildren: Tracy Speights, Nikia Sanders, Jaree Duke, Misty Morrow, Michael Duke, Daniel Fulmer; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; various family and cousins, Ron, Patsy, Linda, Frank and Betty; and nephew and niece, Sonny and Charnell.
