ROSE MARIE GRAVES

Rose Marie Graves was the precious first born of Ocie Jones and Rose Mary Sadler-Jones on Aug. 27, 1935, in Valley Mills. A second child, Ocie Jones Jr (wife Bessie Jones), whom she was very close with, preceded her in death along with his wife. After an early death of their mother she and her brother were raised by her aunt and uncle, Verdel and Melvin Carey of Valley Mills.

Rose left her earthly home Nov. 8, 2021.

She attended public school in Valley Mills throughout her school years.

In March 1962, she married the love of her life, Leon Graves. To this union, one son was born.

She later became an Eastern Star and was a faithful Usher Board Member for many years, to include being the president of the Senior Usher Board for a number of years. She loved her church and faithfully kept God as the head of her life and did so by example of loving God with all of her heart, with all of her soul and with all of her mind. Matthew 22:37

She leaves to cherish one loving son, Allen (Eveleen) Graves and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and extended family.

Service was held on Nov. 20 at Pleasant Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Waco. Arrangements were entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia.
