Sandra Elizabeth ‘Sandi J’ Jones

Sandra Elizabeth “Sandi J” Jones, age 63, of Teague, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, at her residence. She was born on May 23, 1960, in South Plainfield, N.J., to Luther and Dorothy Stampley.

Sandra’s life was marked by a spirit of adventure and dedication to serving others. Raised in New Jersey, she excelled academically and participated actively in extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, band and track at South Plainfield High School. Following her graduation, Sandra pursued higher education at Monmouth County College.

Throughout her life, Sanda embraced various career paths with passion and determination. Initially considering a career as an I.R.S. Agent, she eventually found her calling in the skies as a flight attendant. Her love for travel and devotion to her faith converged as she embarked on numerous mission trips, including journeys to Guatemala and Honduras.

Sandra’s journey in Texas led her to a fulfilling career in healthcare, first as a surgical technician at renowned hospitals like Cook’s Children’s Hospital and Children’s Health Pediatric Hospital in Dallas. Later, she transitioned into the realm of education, imparting her knowledge and expertise as an instructor at Concord College and Teague Intermediate School.

In 2012, Sandra found love and companionship with Ronald K. Jones, whom she married, expanding her family with three additional daughters and a son. Her dedication to her blended family was unwavering, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

Sandra’s legacy extends beyond her professional achievements. She was a follower of Christ, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her vibrant spirit, work ethic, and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

Sandra’s memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Ronald; her daughters, Nicole Elizabeth Bowman (Donald), Victoria Marie Davis (Darel), Rachel Elizabeth Marie Powell, and bonus daughters Sherika Mack (Adrian Sr.), Toki (Marcus), and Kellie Phillips (Devin); bonus son James Phillips (Quenisha); 10 grandchildren, Bianca, Mia, Erica, Adrianna, Adrian Jr., Arriane, Kei’Niya, Demi, Dynver, and Tyler; brothers Luther “Sonny” Stampley and Kenneth Stampley; and a host of relatives and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Dorothy Stampley.

Although she may be gone from our sight, her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Funeral services for Sandra Elizabeth “Sandi J” Jones will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague, with interment following at Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
