Jeffery Paul Phillips

Jeffery Paul Phillips, known by his friends and loved ones as Jeff, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 31, 2021, at the age of 55. Jeff was born in Wichita Falls on June 21, 1966, to parents Billy “Fuzz” Paul Phillips and Betty ruth Phillips.

At a very early age Jeff heard God’s call to ministry while attending a Baptist youth camp at Falls Creek, Oklahoma. In 1984 Jeff graduated from Waurika High School and went on to attend Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.

Jeff Pastored in Missouri, was a youth minister at First Baptist Church of Waurika, Oklahoma., started and pastored Cornerstone Church in Waurika, while also working at Mardel Christian Book Store in Wichita Falls, and later was employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wichita Falls. Jeff became associate pastor at Outreach Ministries Church, a position he held for more than 20 years until his death. While serving as pastor at Outreach Ministries Church in 2006, he began employment at the United States Post Office in Tehuacana and as a mail carrier in Groesbeck, Mart and Mount Calm.

Jeff Phillips married Misty Michelle Smith on Aug. 3, 1996, in the Mertens Baptist Church in Mertens.

He is survived by his wife, Misty; sisters, Leesa Phillips and Ivana Dixon and husband Paul Dixon of Healdton, Okla.; brother, Mike Phillips and wife Lara Phillips, also of Healdton, Oklahoma.; along with several uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a loving husband, a great pastor, a wonderful uncle and friend to others. He was known as a friend of God. He will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will beheld at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Mertens Baptist Church.
