The Honorable Putnam Kaye “P.K.” Reiter, loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, passed away suddenly on Aug. 18, 2020, at the age of 87.
San Juana Aide Lira passed away in Mexia on Aug. 20, 2020, at the age of 52. She was born Nov. 2, 1967, in Venecia, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Arturo H. and Maria Elena Cantu Chavez. San Juana married Gerardo Lira on Aug. 7, 1993, in Sullivan City, and they were blessed with one daughter, Yesenia. After moving to Mexia, San Juana became an employee of the Mexia ISD. San Juana had been a teacher’s aide at Mexia High School for almost 20 years.
Sandra Lee Leggett passed away in Mexia on Aug. 19, 2020, at the age of 71. She was born January 10, 1949 in Casper, Wyoming to Chester Lee and Wyoma Lee McKendry Leggett. She was a physical therapist and worked for several medical facilities for many years, prior to retirement. Sandra’s job proved to be very rewarding to her as she loved working and taking care of people.
Robert Samuel Lancaster Sr., 85, of Montgomery, TX passed away Friday August 14, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.
Jerry Lynn Watson Sr., 69, of Leakey, and formerly of Mexia, passed away on Aug. 6, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia. Interment will be at Lost Prairie Cemetery in Limestone County. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home.
